- Barges and tugs collect marine sand from depths of between 20-40m off the coast of Ongjin
and Taean KyungKi-Do, Haeju of North Korea, Exclusive economic zone
-
- Tugs and barges return to port, a process that takes about 11~48 hours
-
- Following the vessels' arrival at port the unprocessed marine sands are offloaded by conveyor
-
- The discharged sands are then conveyed to the cleaning facility
-
- Shells, pebbles and other debris are removed and the remaining sea sand is placed into a
washing tub
-
- Once the sea sand is placed into the washing device the automated system waters and drains
the sand for a period of 9 hours, decreasing the salinity to less than 0.01%
-
- Upon completion of the desalinization process a qualified inspector performs a salinity test to
ensure the quality of the product
-
- As Sun-Kwang has sand processing yards in Wolmi-do, Geocheom-da and Youngjong-do,
sands are readily supplied to customers
-
- Delivery of the processed marine sands is both convenient and at a reasonable cost
